BINTULU (March 7): The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) recently received an official visit from the Sarawak Ombudsman chief Dato Sri Abdul Ghafur Shariff and his delegation.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by BDA general manager Datu Muhamad Yakup Kari and BDA’s senior management team upon their arrival at Wisma Bintulu here yesterday.

“The visit aims to reinforce cooperation between the Sarawak Ombudsman and BDA as well as to enhance the efficiency of public service delivery,” said BDA in a statement.

“Throughout the visit, various discussions took place, including topics related to the improvement of public services and the role of the Ombudsman in addressing public complaints,” it added.

Also highlighted during the visit was the flood incident on Jan 29 which affected the residents here, to which BDA proposed for the state government to implement solutions to reduce future flood risks.

“These include improving and upgrading the drainage systems as well as to have better collaborations with related agencies to ensure better preparedness for natural disasters.

“BDA remains committed to cooperating with all parties for the progress and development of Bintulu,” it said.
