BINTULU (March 4): The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) has warned against the indiscriminate dumping of rubbish along roadsides.

“Floods hit Bintulu a month ago and post-flood garbage cleanup has been completed.

“However, there are still a few irresponsible individuals who are dumping trash along the roadsides,” it said in a statement.

It reminded the public this action is an offence under the Local Authority Cleanliness By-Laws 1999 and is punishable by fines.

BDA urged Bintulu residents to report any illegal dumping activities by taking photos of the vehicles involved, preferably with clear license plate numbers, and

send them to the BDA Hotline at 013-836 2277 for further action.
